One of the great benefits of the Ninety-Nines, Inc., is its commitment to supporting aviation training and education. The international organization of the Ninety-Nines, Inc., offers many scholarships each year, and several of our members have been fortunate enough to advance their training through these scholarships.
These scholarships are available to any current member, at any experience level, who is seeking to further her flight training. It's not limited to college students.
Update: The 2017 Tucson 99s scholarships have been awarded.
For 2017, our chapter is offering two different scholarships of up to $2,000 each:
An applicate must be a current Ninety-Nines member of an Arizona chapter or of another chapter, but residing in the state of Arizona. Arizona chapters include Tucson, Phoenix, Rio Colorado, Sedona Red Rockettes, and Yavapai.
To apply, use the 2017 Tucson 99s Scholarship Guidelines and Directions and the Tucson 99s Scholarship Application form, following instructions exactly.
Contact the Chapter Scholarship Committee Chairman before applying at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Completed applications must be received by 1 May 2017, with Chapter decision on award to be communicated not later than 31 May 2017.
Tucson 99s member, Jennifer Shrantz earns her seaplane rating thanks to an Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship.
The Ninety-Nines established the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund in 1940 to honor Amelia's memory and perpetuate her ideals and love of flying. From a single scholarship of $125 in 1941, the annual Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund has grown to help over 400 women from six countries to advance and succeed in aviation and aerospace.
For 2016, there are six separate Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship categories. Application deadlines are December 1, 2016.
