November 1st 2014

The Tucson Treasure Hunt is a flying event to test the pilot and crew in flying and identifying from the air.  This is not a race, but a scavenger hunt in the sky with the opportunity to purchase poker hands to play later too! You will receive a set of clues that will guide you around a course.  Each clue is a riddle to be answered by finding a landmark or item on the Phoenix Sectional Chart.  You may be directed to a secret airport.  At the end of the circuit, you will hand in your clues, play your poker hands, and break for lunch.  The crew with the most right answers wins!
There will be trophies and cash prizes – you might brush up on your spot landings, too.
The event is conducted under FAA VFR flight rules.  The hunt is open to all pilots with at least a private pilot certificate.  Another pilot or observer is required.  This person does not have to be a certificated pilot.
Location:  The event will start at Tucson International Airport (KTUS).  When you land, request parking at Million Air. They will be expecting you.  The phone number for Million Air is 520-445-6300. Parking is free for the weekend but if you need fuel, please buy from Million Air.
A block of rooms, for the Tucson Ninety Nines, have been set aside at the Hilton Garden Inn for both Friday and  Saturday night, under the group code “TUS99”, please make your reservation by calling 520741-0505 and use our group code  TUS99.
